Stevie Ray Vaughan Guitar Techniques ~ Jamie Humphries Page Four

He teaches us the rhythm. He talks some theory, some blues notes, mentions a hex-a-tonic scale as a pentatonic scale with an added blues note. He does not mention its pure T-Bone Walker who blended the major and minor pentatonics scales in a signature way. T-Bone was from Texas too!

Next is Pride and Joy and with that ends disc one. Disc two has the remaining three songs. Commendable if you are ready to absorb its teachings and know some basics afore hand.

A good reference book is key! In Pride and Joy he does count time briefly and its a decent lesson. Scuttle Buttin' is a great song and Jamie plays the Shite out of it! Parts of it are hybrid picking however.

This is a pretty decent guitar lesson for a semi-intermediate - advanced player. I don't regret owning it one bit even if I cant play it properly.

In the menu below are the separate times for each subheading of the particular songs' menu.
