This is DVD III of How to play Blues Guitar! 1:23 min. .PDF Pamphlet on the disc at root level.
Stefan mentions Keys of A and E to be played later then we standard tune up.
Immediately we tune to Drop D i.e., lower the low E string one full step to a D note. Gives a good bottom playing in D. Depth!
The 1st Drop D song is called "County Line" - we switch back and forth with the camera angles, left hand, right hand, left hand, both hands.
He makes it look easy. Stefan tells us the stuff he just played was Big Bill Broonzy and Mance Lipscome and it is some pretty nice blues at that.
Once again we seem focused on the left hand the fretting hand. Am I repeating my self? I am if you recall reading my thoughts concerning the other two previous guitar lessons in this blues guitar series.

This is great if you aren't intimidated by the finger picking aspect. I still need to learn that! Do you? I'd start learning it at the beginning and that's else where then here! This is Disc III.
What a minute! This is the best DVD of all if you like more traditional Delta Blues and Mr. Grossman informs us that the grand maestros of the delta blues were Charlie Patton, Son House and Tommy Johnson. This is much more delta blues focused. I also recommend the Robert Johnson guitar lesson by Scott Ainslie for Delta Blues.
For rosy cheeked blues guitar finger style beginners I recommend this finger style guitar picking DVD in its place as it lays a better foundation to build upon. I recommend others too.
There is a lot here its true but you better already be able to fingerpick! This concludes my thoughts concerning this three part finger picking blues guitar series by Stefan Grossman.
