Advanced Fingerpicking Guitar Techniques Ragtime Blues Guitar
Stefan Grossman Page Three

Stefan is a guy who learned how to sell a product where in the student used a pamphlet or book and CD's. The onus was on the student to learn not the teacher to teach. This is before the advent of the digital guitar instructional and in my opinion he sees no reason to change too much as that would invalidate his previous works. There are other producers that do this too. The longer they have been in business the more product they have threatened by a new technology. Digital Guitar instructional presentations are good but combined with  a pamphlet even better. Stefan always gives us those and a high level of production values. However the camera work has room for improvement.

I don't want to knock these guitar lessons totally because that wouldn't be fair but he, in all 11 of the DVDs I have of his, is way light on exercises for the picking hand. Makes you wonder don't it? And if don't it ought to! Stefan, do us a solid and make a heartfelt and sincere beginners guitar instructional guitar DVD about steady thumb and fingerpicking where we wallow in scores of dead simple basic steady thumb exercises and I'll laud you to the heavens. And say it in big print on the cover that its for beginners. I'll bet you sell a lot of them too especially if you combine it with the C-A-G-E-D system like Ernie Hawkins 3 DVD set for fingerpicking.
