This guitar lesson also has a Getting to Know Your Amp section to it whose design is graphically challenged but I learned something I didn't know and have since tried it and its worth mentioning to you.
Buy an amp with a GAIN knob if yours doesn't have one already. I learned that the gain knob controls the strength of the signal going into the amp VS the Master Volume knob which controls the signal leaving the amp.
Point being try turning your gain knob all the way up with your Master Volume really low and see how the guitars signal is now over driven.
Its like an instant distortion effect or overdrive or what have you. I think its a lot of fun when you are in the mood for that sort of really loud amp distortion but need to keep peace with your fellows.
Anyway the songs here are stellar. I love Commander Cody and have even seen them a couple of times and Hot Rod Lincoln gonna drive me to drinking. Even if they only cover it. Charlie Ryan wrote it and rodded the car.
Now here, in this particular band, Commander Cody, is an ensemble which plays country truck driving songs, but also plays rockabilly.
Great Band with a lot of soul and heart! And It wasn't a bad TV show either I used to watch it Saturday mornings in black and white right after Sgt. Preston of the Yukon or was it Rin Tin Tin? Anyway you owe it to yourself to give them a listen if you haven't already. "Mama hated diesels so bad. I guess it had something to do with Dad" Commander Cody !
Without craftsmanship, inspiration is a mere reed shaken in the wind.
