Creedence Clearwater Revival: learn 8 songs ~ Doug Boduch P3

Proud Mary is their most covered or so-called signature song. Its got good energy and interesting changes worth knowing. Standard Tuning.

Up Around the Bend is our last entry and another example of inspired song structure and guitar playing. It almost country but manages to rock too! I would say this is a must know guitar song. Its not too fast and its not too slow.

So all in all, both from a need to be able to play on guitar aspect and as a CCR fan this is a worthy guitar lesson and good for a beginner that knew the 4 or 5 bar CAGED chords. It would challenge you but reward you too! Liking and familiarity with the material will matter. A safe bet really!

Learning songs is a spotty way to learn. Simple songs should definitely be part of your guitar day. But far better initially to learn  a bit concerning the C-A-G-E-D system and the major scale theory of diatonic harmony in the key of C with all natural notes. Then songs will make more sense especially Pop songs C Am F G. The songs here have it all and go from classic 1 4 5 to more ballad like chord progressions without pretensions which is why they stand the test of time. Quality never goes out of style! Creedence is dope! This actually is a short cut.
